I jsut bought some hard winter wheat berries from WF while I wait for my sproutpeople order. I had heard that the best medium for growing was vermiculite, but I can't find it. The lovely people at home depot told my dh that pearlite is the same thing. I am pretty sure it's not, but as I have it here and my berries are done soaking and need to be planted...is it okay to use, both pH and nutrient wise?

Potting soil with vermiculite is good. But use what you have. Anything organic with peat moss is great.
