The other day, as I was making a large, yummy RAW salad for myself, I offered to make one for my dh. He was in the midst of a pint of Soy Delicious ice cream. His reply was, "No thank you. I'm quite happy with my raw lunch." "Raw?" "Yes, it has no chocolate sauce, no added choc. chips, and no added sprinkles!"
Just thought you might enjoy the humor of the situation.

Bless his heart. My dad thought that raw pizza was just a thawed frozen pizza that you didn't cook. He was horrified and I had a good chuckle. ;)

:D Many people think because they are eating organic or eating healthier that it may be raw.. especially if it says PURE, ALL NATURAL, FRESH... and yes even if it says "RAW" It's isn't always raw lol.. but that is cute and funny!!

I still get people asking me "well you can still eat fish, right" when I tell them how I've been changing my diet. Gotta love the midwest. People can't wrap their minds around eating a diet without some sort of meat.

This reminds me of a friend of mine. I was talking to him about raw foods and buying more produce. He was so surprised, saying "Do you mean all the fruits and vegetables are raw? I didn't know bananas and stuff were raw?! This means I was eating more raw foods than I thought!" LOL. He apparently thought that only superfoods like goji berries were raw.

When I first heard of a raw diet, I assumed it meant any kind of food that wasn't cooked. I think the reason I thought this was because I once worked with a woman who went on a frozen food diet. She could eat anything she wanted so long as it was in the frozen state. This did not include ice cream or other foods that are supposed to be frozen.
I can recall her sitting with a bowl of spaghetti and a fork, scraping the tines over the food and eating the icy bits that she managed to scrape up. And she actually managed to eat quite a bit more than you'd think she would like that. She claimed she didn't mind the diet, but only mangaged to stick with it for a couple of weeks. And she didn't lose any weight.
