Has anyone gotten the Tribest Blender that is sold through Alissa's site??
If so, do you like it? What do you use it for? Good for GS? I have a Food processer right now as my only equitment, and would like a blender for GS which I would like to add to my diet. Any suggestions would be helpful as I don't have a lot of $'s to spend. Thanks

Hi, I have a Tribest blender and think it's great.
I use it a couple of times a day.
I make green smoothies in it, blended salads/soups and sometimes I grind up some nuts or seeds in it (with the grind blade).
It's easy to use and easy to clean.
It's rather small, so in my small kitchen, there's certainly a spot for it.
And I'd surely take it with me on travels.

Any down sides? Well, the biggest cup that comes with it, isn't thát big in my opinion (16 oz). I always make my green smoothies in two sessions (I drink two cups). Ideally, for me, a cup should be one liter or so, so I can make my GS in one go... :) You can order somewhat larger cups trough the Tribest website though, if larger is what you need (24 oz), I'll probably order one myself in the future.
As for the nuts and seeds, you have to grind those up with pauses in between, or it will overload (or so I've read). But that'll probably be the case with any blender, except for really high powered ones, like the Vitamix (I had a 600 watt blender/chopper once that I had to be careful with while grinding nuts).

The Tribest is more like a handy blender, than a heavy duty blender. If you want to make HUGE batches for dehydrated meals etc, it isn't that practical. But then again, you have a food processor for that! For smaller amounts, it's ideal. If I like to chop up lots of garlic, or grind cacaobeans, or make a baby blended salad, it's supereasy to just grab the Tribest. You can also buy a cheap, big blender somewhere, especially when you want to make liters and liters of green smoothies (although it probably isn't 'handy' like this one, I guess it just depends on your lifestyle).

Yes, I love my Tribest. For traveling super lightweight and home use eassy to store. I did have one problem which the company corrected for me without charge: motor went out. I don't know if that was a fluke or not, but do enjoy mine for smoothies mainly. I would recommend the Tribest Blender. It does a great job of making smoothies too. Not sure if there is something that size comparable.

I have made sauces in it but have not ground up anything.

I second what Judy and Carolg are saying. I bought it too off of Alissa's site and I like it for a single smoothie serving in the a.m. I did take it with me on a trip too which is easier to take something that small. I would not use it for big time sauces or anything like that - it is just convenient if you want to make smoothies etc. Good luck.

Thanks You for getting back to me. Which to choose:confused: Hmm.. I'll have to mull it over for a while before I spend the $'s.

after doing some research I decided on a Braum Power Max blender for $44. from Wal Mart. Consermer digest rated it one of the best for home use in this price range.
