I was wondering if anyone on this site works the night shift. I'm a nurse and I work 12 hour nightshifts. How compatible is the nightshift and a raw foods diet? I know nightshift can effect your health, but have you noticed a difference by eating raw and still staying on the nightshift?
It will take some time before I can go to day shift, so I'm knida stuck with this shift for awhile. But really I kinda like nightshift. It's less stressful.
Any ideas?

Yes, I do work nights many times, part-time. The other women here always order SAD food. At first it was difficult, but I learned to bring in my own lunches. I save alot of money this way and the extra benefit is I am able to watch my weight and stay healthy. Lately, I've been keeping it simple ie: apples, avocadoes, bags of yummy lettuce and nuts for those desperate moments.

I have been working in a night club and don't go to sleep until 4:30a.m. The last club I worked in I didn't sleep until 8a.m! I was concerned bc night time is when our bodies heal themselves as we sleep, but I didn't find that these hours made me eat unhealthy. In turn, I eat less bc I do not eat on the job, and when I get home I am so tired I sleep. The only time the crazy hours mess with me is if I don't catch up on sleep. Then I have outrageous cravings! I would say just bring raw, light snacks and lots of juice to keep you raw and energized.
