Things like GABA and Serontin, Sam-E. There is a great book called, The Mood Cure. It's worth it to read it.

Hi,
Holy Basil is a good spirit/mood - elevator/uplifter it is an herb from India. It also helps to regulate cortisol (stress hormone that helps us gain fat around the middle), blood sugar & insulin metabolism. Some people have the "side effect" of losing weight too! I buy the New Chapter brand & really like it alot. Holy Basil also comes in the form of a tea called "Tulsi" teas, they have different flavors - that is if you drink teas. Good luck in your search!

Yes! All the vitamin B's are good for you and your mood. Cantaloupe is a GREAT source.

Stina,

I previously used the capsules from NewChapter, and I have a lot of respect for that little company out of Vermont. Now I've switched to the tea, Organic India brand marketed as Tulsi Tea. There's a variety of flavors, and I've very much enjoying the sweet rose flavor. It helps to do high amounts for several weeks to get the effects to kick in and then level off for maintenance.

There's a great book by Dr. Gabriel Cousens called Depression Free for Life that I'd highly recommend.

And don't forget the wonderful antidote of exercise to help uplift and stabilize mood.

Sunlight. Sometimes that's the best cure, getting light into the brain.

I was reading through some of David wolfe's material and he says to eat melons everyday for breakfast. They are high in vitamin Bs.
