My Son carved this character for his Jack-o-lantern! I thought it was neat. Did anyone else carve pumpkins this year?

I made a raw pumpkin smoothie with my pumpkin left overs. It was so good!
Are their any recipies out there for raw pumpkin pie, please?
thanks,
Green

What happens if you make a crust like other pies & just blend raw pumpkin with pumpkin pie spices for the filling?? Maybe some Honey or *cough cough* Agave for an extra added sweetness?? And.. let it set in the fridge until it kinda hardens together?

When I make pumkpin pies for Hubb's work friends, I add so many extra spices like cloves & cinnimon.

I'm so anxious to see how one would turn out but I'm all out of nuts/seeds for the crust.

My pumpkin wasn't creative at all.. mostly because I don't trust my self with any hard gourd and a steak knife :D

I've made raw pumpkin pie, it comes out pretty good (it is NOT the same as cooked, so you have to let go of that though)

It is a PAIN in the REAR to cut and peel the pumpkin though! Then, chop it up as fine as you can get it in the food processor. (about 2 cups)

Then, add about a cup of soaked dates, raw almond or cashew butter (uh, forgot how much! 1/2 a cup?), seasonings like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves...

I made my crust with walnuts or pecans, I forgot which, and dates. I heard some people have put the pumpkin mix into the dehydrator for a while and that softens it up more!

Good luck!

I was told that sweet potato is better then pumpkin for raw pies. Still haven't found a recipie for it, though.

Elle, Don't know what would happen, but if you don't add a little thickner, wouldn't it be very watery?

Trinity, that is why I didn't post the pic of my pumpkin, but my sons' only. I didn't even carve one this year, I just cut my pumpkin up in pieces for a smoothie, LOL!:p

Rawmommie, thanks for the recipie. Can't you just wash off the skin really really well and blend the skin with it to avoid the peeling?

Starfire, I will check out the blog, but don't have time to now, gotta run!

Thanks!

Greenlife, would you please share your raw pumpkin smoothie recipe with me? I love pumpkin but I don't know any raw recipes for it yet. Actually, I have never cut one open! Can someone tell me a good method?

dani-b,

All I did was blend some nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and cloves and raw, peeled pumpkin chunks in my blender with some sweetened Brazil nut milk. Then, I simply added a few frozen banannas and ice. That's it. It was sorta missing someting, though. Can't figure out what>
