Okay, so I made my first mung bean and alfalfa sprouts (for Alissa's Almost Tuna).. I was working through dehulling them after they sprouted.. BIG PAIN! What's the harm in eating the hulls?

Theres no harm in eating them as far as i know but if you do eat them you are giving your body stuff to digest that hasnt got nutrients... kinda wasting the body's time & energy. I think thats why its a good idea to avoid as many as possible but am not certain.
I just do a long final rinse in a colander that has large enough holes to let the hulls through but not the sprouts & that gets rid of most of them. HTH

The outer skin in fine, only more Fiber, which the Body ALWAYs need. The ONLY need for not using the outer skin, is to have your dish look like REAL Tuna. Or should I say "It's only Cosmetic".

'Cause I am new to sprouting, and I had been eating the hulls! I didn't know any better. I thought I remembered seeing alfalfa sprouts with hulls on in the packages I bought when I was growing up.
I am so relieved to learn that they are good fiber source.:)
