Hi all,
I have been eating the same percentage raw for about a year now (60%). About a month ago I started working out 5 days a week (previously I wasn't exercising at all). Now, 4 weeks into it, I am feeling detox-like symptoms and my skin is breaking out terribly in a way it hasn't since middle school. Is it possible that this addition of exercise is making me detox?
Thanks,
Sweating cleanses the skin. That's why one should shower right after working out. I like to sit in the sauna after working out too.

Thanks. I'm not as surprised about the skin problem as I am about that general blech feeling I have had for several days--kind of upset stomach, kind of lathargic, generally feeling like rubbish -- and No, I am not pregnant :)
Feels just like my initial food detox.

Most of the toxins that are stored in the body are in the body's fat deposits. Once you start exercising regularly you start burning the fat and the toxins are freed within the body and have to be released.
I had a very rough and powerful detox about a month after going raw probably because I was exercising so much and lost so much body fat so quickly. I had hives, rashes, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, fever, and sweats for about a week. The worst day of it all I spent in the hospital because my family members were so concerned about me. After being tested the doctor was baffled as to what I had because he initially thought it was the Norwalk virus but I had no viruses.
