i wanted to share a procedure called atlas profilax with all of you.
it's the re-alignment of the atlas (c1 vertabrae), the first upper bone in our spine, the bone right under the skull.
i had it performed on me at the new life expo in nyc a few weeks ago by a gentleman named ranan shahar. (he owns a clinic in cali called the new dawn clinic)
my fiance and i went to the expo to listen in on some lectures and i sat in on ranan's lecture.
basically almost everyones atlas is misaligned to the right from birth. many people don't suffer and symptoms, many people do.
what this condition creates is pressure on the spine because the hole that the spinal cord goes through is smaller that it should be, causeing the atlas to touch the spinal cord.
i have had lower back pain and siatic nerve pain for as long as i can remember, but i just dealt with it. i have also always been a "sloucher".
the procedure is really just an intense massage of the muscles in the neck that hold this bone in place. he used a small tool that was like a little jackhammer for about 15 minutes. when he was done and i stood up my fiance said "your taller and your not slouching!"
my back pain was gone, i felt light on my feet and felt great overall.
i'm also sleeping better and i wake up fresh with no pain at all.
so if you have back pain or even if you don't (i've heard that this can solve alot of different problem) it may be worth it to you to look into atlas profilax.
there aren't many people in the states that do this though.
