early august i was sick, yet again. i was going through this cycle of illness. started in sept 06 and continued until jan 07... then it started up again in the summer of 07.

i would get tired very easily. had a hard time making it through the day. very low energy.

if i did something (like grocery shop, take the kids to guitar lessons, go for coffee with a friend) then i had to have a day of rest the next day (or two days) to recover. if i didn't... i'd be sick within 2-4 days.

my muscles ached daily in my back.

eyes were sore and sometimes couldn't focus

memory... um... what was i talking about???

overheating - sheets soaked at night - feverish feeling (cold - hot - cold - hot)

often had loose stools

when i was sick:

~my skin ached
~i was very dizzy and lightheaded. i would fall over when i was standing so i held onto things to hold myself upright (more of a stumbling than a fainting)
~my ears were VERY sensitive to sound
~muscles in my shoulders and arms would ache
~dry mouth

since going raw and doing my short fasts... i'm no longer getting sick. i'm on the go all the time. so busy and i have the energy to go go go. often i come home from a busy day and walk the dog on a powerwalk for 30 minutes!!!

i wanted to share this with everyone because i feel like i have a new life, a new body, a new me!

my body also couldn't digest SAD food. i'd be in so much pain. now, the only time my tummy gets upset is if i have pineapple (weird) but everything else i've eaten which is RAW doesn't bother me at all.

it's truly amazing what healthy eating and health-filled-foods feeding your cells can do for you!

(of course my weight release of 49 lbs is a wonderful bonus to all of this!)

changed lifestyle mid august 07
weight release as of oct 31 - 49 lbs

That is so great! What style of raw do you tend towards daily, and what kind of fasts do you do, and how long?

i do short fasts... anywhere from 3 to 9 days. i'm diabetic so i'm careful to not overdo my fasts.

otherwise, it's salads and fresh veges cut up and using avocado as a dip... or a nice fruit salad.

i'm not really eating nuts and never more than one avocado a day. but that's just personal preference.

i do a LOT of juicing... and a smoothie when i need to go longer without food (like i'm going out somewhere).

all in all... i'm just eating what i have available and not really stressing about it at all. easy peasy :D

Yours is a great testimony and I am so glad that you are feeling so much better on the raw food lifestyle. Lynn
