Hi All
I have searched the archives & i cant find a recipe with exact amounts listed for making solid raw chocolates. I want to be able to make some in molds for my kids & also to give as presents to non raw friends. I would like them to be solid like SAD chocolates & also for them not to have to be fridged to stay solid. Anyone know how?
Thanks
This is faith4u's recipe:
1 c. coconut oil
1/2 c. raw cashew butter or almond butter
1/3 c. agave
1/8 c. raw carob powder
1/2 c. cacao nibs or carob powder
10 drops peppermint essential oil or peppermint flavoring
Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Pour into molds or a pan; freeze for at least 30 minutres before serving.
I used all carob powder because I will not give my kids cacao. I also used almond butter. These are so good. I actually have to hide them because everyone eats them so quickly.
I'm not sure if they have to stay refrigerated, though.

Why wont you give your kids cacao? Is carob better?
It was included in the part I cut and pasted. That's from faith4u, not me. I guess you'll have to start a thread to her attention to find out.

I find that cocoa butter is better than coconut butter if you want them to be hard at room temperature.

Thanks for the tip Sport, Ive got both types of butter so I will use the coconut for home & the cocoa for the gifts.

I think that soaked gogi berries are really nice in chocolate bars. I also add chopped cashews.
