Catnip

Is it necessary for a cat? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I've been reading about it and I can't wrap my mind around it and the connection or benefit is has for cats.

Well, I don't know if its good for them or bad for them but I do know my cats enjoy it once in a while. I guess its like having a glass of wine for them!

I give my kitties fresh catnip now and then but not too often. Its just a treat for them. I don't give them the store crap-someone I know grows catnip and they get that dried.

I don't think it's necessary. Some cats like it. Some can't be bothered. Mine is the kind who can't be bothered.
