:o Hi! I am Ruth Ann, a 55 (almost 56) year old grandmother of 5 from Dayton, OH. All of my life I have struggled with what I eat. While alternating between eating SAD and one diet or another, I have probably lost the same 40 pounds about 5 or 6 times. But, hopefully, with age, I am gaining SOME wisdom! :D I am finally starting to take my health seriously, and I'm realizing that some of it IS in my control! Four months ago I became vegan, and I am amazed at the changes in my health that I have already seen. But I kept thinking that there was something more that I could be doing. Recently, a friend introduced me to Alissa's web site. I immediately ordered her book, and as soon as it arrived started reading it. I couldn't put it down! I am already into my second read through. I feel like I could read it 10 times and still learn something new, becuase there is so much to take in. But it all makes perfect sense! Since I had already adjusted nicely to the vegan life style with a high percentage of raw, I decided to take the plunge and begin the Living On Live Food Diet "cold turkey." Yesterday was my first day - Beggar's night for my grandchildren - and it was GREAT! I feel so good about myself! Having just gone through the adjustment of going vegan four months ago, I know that there will be some rough days ahead, but I really believe I CAN do this, and I can't wait to see the benefits. I am so glad I discovered this forum, and I am looking forward to all the support and encouragement. Thanks, Alissa for making all of this possible! :)
