Hello to all,
My name is Tamra and I am a new raw foodist also. I have been "practicing" to be a raw foodist since last Sunday, May 8, 2005. I ate everything I could in my house that was as close to raw as I could get. Salads, fruit, etc. For three days I did well, at least, I felt better. Then, before I could get to the market for fresh goodies, I gave in to SAD food. I felt really awful after eating it. Headache, sluggish, sleepy. You get the idea. Now I am back on the raw and want to make everything. I have been in my kitchen for almost two days solid, it seems.
Since having my hysterectomy at the end of 1990, I have steadily gained weight, a problem with most menopausal women. In 1995, while attending nursing school, I became over stressed and ate my way to 165 lbs. Being 5' 4", that's is quite a bit. By the time I moved here from my native Texas, I still weighed in at 165, so it hadn't fluctuated much, if any. After moving here and meeting an older couple with "rich" tastes for cheese and bread and such, I quickly (in 3 months) put on 35 more pounds. :(
Recently, I was weighed at a Curves locally, and weighed in at 203 lbs. To some that may not seem like much, but carrying it around is definitely not appealing.
So here I am in all my 'glory' to share with this wonderful group of raw foodists who are struggling (or not) just like me. Because it is all about health, whether it be illness, weight, or both.
I also still have a few things to learn about maneuvering and doing posts on this website. Can someone please help me figure out how to create my signature?
Thanks :)
