I don't have any online sources for you, I've not heard of any yet but maybe someone else here can enlighten us :)
But... If you have any Asian or International markets somewhere in your area, they may be a good place to start. Many times you can find durians there. Or it's likely they can special order them for their customers. I've also seen others mention that it's possible to find durian in the freezer section of said markets already packaged without the shell.
As for the taste... It's like a rich tasting sweet vanilla custard with a tinge of an of oniony and/or garlicy flavor. Sounds weird but the ratios of unexplained flavors can vary with each durian. I love it, but for many it's an acquired taste and some people don't like it at all. I think it's worth trying at least once in a lifetime.
And, not all durians smell horridly funky... You just have to be careful about picking ones that are not overripe. A lot of times people will say it's good to get durians that are starting to split open, but from my experience those have already become too ripe...over smelly and way strong on the onion/garlic flavor and not as sweet. But, it will take trying a few to get a feel for what works best for you...that is, if you can find them in a shop.
I hope someone chimes in about a sound online source for you...
Good Luck!

I would say check your asian markets. Here in SG they sell it everywhere and the locals even rate them. I don't know much about it though, but remember they say that the D-24 is the best.
But, for me, the smell is so aweful, I can't get past that to taste it. But, it looks like a banana sortof, and have heard it's a similar texture.
Funny thing is, in the MRT stations, you there are signs saying "No Durian Allowed"! That's how bad it smells!
Would love to hear your experience when you find some, amybe it will inspire me to try it, maybe! :p

I'd highly recommend going to YouTube and watching Shazzie getting X-rated with a durian.
Give your taste buds a fair chance with this incredible food. I'd highly recommend just trying one to two tablespoons the first time you try it. Just freeze the rest in small bags and pull them out to add to smoothies. It's worth acclimating yourself to this exotic God-stuff for the effect: satisfying, heavenly,...strangely durgasmic.

Thank you, folks, However, nobody knows which online source is a good Durian seller? No, I don't live anywhere near China. Is China the only place you can get these?
Maybe I don't want to try it if it smells like cat poop, though:eek:
