Tried Chia seed for the first time for breakfast. Last night I put three tablespoons of chia in a bowl, a handful of raisins, a handful of cacao beans, a good sprinkle of cinamon and about a cup of water. Put the bowl in the frig overnight and this morning it was a tastey, filling pudding.

Did it go jelly like as flax would or did it just thicken. I do not like the feel of soaked flax.

Yep, it was jelly-like, but not slimy. It might be a problem for a texture sensitive person.
