Do a bananaearch for tons of hints--believe it takes quite a bit of rinsing after sprouting, but for me anyway is great addition to dehydrated crackers. Have also snuck them in pates, topped soup and added to salads (is fantastic in the grapefruit and fennel salad).

hi,
it´s raw- (remember if it sprouts it´s always raw)
you have to wash it about 8 times before actually using it (before sprouting), clean well untill the water you wash it in is clear...it has a funky coating that if not washed will leave a bitter taste. sprout it as usual and use it in saladas as a crunch. really good in tabouli (don´t know how to spell it right), good recipe in the pure food and wine cookbook. also good as an addition to grawnola.
enjoy!

And it is also a complete protein just loaded with amino acids. I like to add it to my diced up tomato, cucumber and basil and onion with a slpash of balsamic:)

I think that it is the easiest thing in the world to sprout.
If you soak it today and wash well after sprouting it will be sprouted tomorrow morning.

thanks for the help, do they ever become soft and bean-like or are they always crunchy?

Any time I've sprouted quinoa it has become quite soft with no crunch at all. If it is still hard then it hasn't been soaked long enough and probably wont sprout. When I ate large amounts of it I noticed digestion issues and bloating as well. I have the same problem with most seeds. Since going to an 8-1-1 style diet I consume alot less and the digestion issues have disappeared.
