Hi there! Murray here again. I've been on raw for nearly 3 years, and in last 3 months getting intense cramps in feet and calves, especially when swimming. Any suggestions? Is salt an option?
Many loving thanks!

Try bananas (potassium) and anything with magnesium (which is a muscle relaxant).

I have no suggestions, but I'll be watching this thread, my arches keep wanting to cramp since I went raw.

A lot of folk tend to not drink water while raw. If you aren't doing a liter or two, try that. If you aren't doing at least one VERY large salad or a bund of green smoothies ~ try that ~ for the calcium. Twinyoga mention potassium ~ 'nanas and magnesium ~ greens and sea veggies.

Here's some information which I cut & pasted from The Digital Naturopath at http://www.digitalnaturopath.com/cond/C466089.html
Low levels of certain minerals known as electrolytes—magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium—have long been linked to leg cramps. (Marathon runners sweating out the miles are particularly prone to this variety.)
You mentioned that you've run several marathons while raw ...
[FONT=Georgia][I]Hello,
Actually since it is so late in the day....I'm just jumping in here and saying I'm fairly new to raw fooding. I've been off and on since last August. Lots has happened this year which I will go into in more detail later. BUT I would really really like some support around the hungry all the time issue too (when I'm doing the all the raw lifestyle. I saw that someone else posted this same question , but I didn't catch any responses to this yet.....however, I only quickly glanced. If there are any tips to help with this issue I sure would appreciate it. It's been a real bugaboo for me. By the way, I am so thankful you guys have this forum. I'm REALLY looking forward to being involved. I'll write more later. HAVE to catch some shut-eye.
Thanks so much,
Mtab
