View Full Version : Former juicer - can I blend into a smoothie what I used to juice?

I don't have a juicer and while I was going to get another one, I can't stand the leftover pulp.
I was thinking about green smoothies and how you throw whole leaves in there. Could I not throw in the meat from a butternut squash or really anything else that is really ripe in my fridge and risks not getting eaten "in time?"
I'm wondering if I can throw everything but the kitchen sink in there and just add grapes/pineapple to mask - ?
Any tips?
Help me out - I tend to be able to tolerate drinking things better than eating them (I wasn't raised with fruits and veggies  so baby steps!).
Thanks!

I have found that veggies with lots of fiber like a hard, solid carrot work better in the juicer then in the blender unless you strain the carrot pulp from the blender before continuing. The best produce to put in the blender is the soft produce like bananas or cukes IMO.

I kind of do both. I make green juice, then blend that as the base for smoothies. I can't stand green fibers :-\
