Has anyone tried "The Firm" or "The Firm Transfirmer" tapes? Please comment if so. Thank you!

I was a Firm Believer in the 90s. It's tough at first, but I got into great shape.

I really like the Firm...The best thing about it is that you can start at any fitness level, and go from there...

It's very challenging and if you're serious about getting into shape, that's what you need...I was in a terrible car accident 3 years ago & fractured my sternum, crushed my left foot pretty badly....Also had really bad abdominal injuries...Overnight, I went from power walking 3 miles every other day & excercising to gaining 45 pounds and not being able to do anything!

I've been using the Firm & (and now raw food) to get healthier, and to get back to my "old self" again. The excercises are good because they always have someone in them showing you how to do the excercise if you're a beginner....And the buns excercise...WORKS!!

The upper body strengthening is great too! Try it & let me know what you think!

Thank you for the replies. I bought the Transfirmer series with the bench and have not done them yet because I was worried after I bought it that it might cause more injury to me knee. I will have to see how it goes - there are so many out there, it is hard to decide which to choose.

Mango - I hope you heal quickly and feel better again soon. You are an inspiration!

Have a good day everyone.

I am a huge fan of The Firm as well. It is the only at home routine I've used that has given me the body I want. Good luck and have fun!

Thank You!

Just go easy on that knee and work it as much as you feel comfortable...Slowly...

You can do it!

I am so happy that someone decided to start this thread. I have been thinking about ordering the new Firm workout DVD's. I know Thanksgiving hasn't even arrived yet - but I am thinking about "Spring training" already. It gets here so fast you know! :o

I know what you mean. My intentions are real good - I have the tape right out on the counter to use it. But, in reality, it is so hard to find the time with all that is going on right now + with fibro and chronic fatigue I get so darn tired. Hoping all that will change - I know I must make the effort or I will get nothing in return. Right now staying 100% raw through some difficult stuff is the key for me. I used to always turn to food right away. Now I am realizing that the sad junk food may numb my feelings, but the problems do not go away - they are still there! Sounds logical right, but when you are an emotional eater there is no logic. I will stop babbling now...I just am really excited to get started and am hoping it will go well with the fibro (the muscle pain gets worse with exercise if I am not careful).

Has anyone tried their Transfirmer series (with the box) and/or the new Transfirmation series (with the weights). Just wondered which is better for a beginner?????

Thank you for the responses.
Have a great rawlicious day :)

Yeah, has anyone tried the new series with the weights? If so - are the exercises pretty much the same as the other Firm DVD's but with weights? I'd like to know because I already have weights. Although I do like the look of the weights that come with the new DVD's - they look like the are strapped onto your hands for ease of use. :D

OMG - I just did one of the Transfirmer tapes (cardio with sculpting) and did not use weights or the bench this time around. It was very difficult at times to keep up with all the bouncing and movement and changes. I wish they would have a segment at the beginning to go over some of the more complicated moves. Anyway...I hope to keep trying. I am so glad no one saw me trying to do this - I must have looked like something else.

That's what is great about the Firm. YOu can start out with no weights and just move your arms.... then work your way up. I cannot explain the miraculous results I got. I even did it while I was pregnant with my first baby - up until a week before I delivered, I was on that step with my weights. ;)

Justine - you are awesome. I bet that kept you strong during the delivery!

I hope I will be able to catch on to the moves - I feel like a fish out of water.

I tried another Transfirmer tape today with the bench and fell off of it twice. I could not keep up with the moves. What they should do is have a section on the tape where they SLOWLY go over the moves first and then to the actual exercise. No way could I do the new moves, at that fast pace, while trying to get the rhythm of my legs on the bench, and the arms moving. It frustrated the heck out of me today. So I did find some very very old Firm tapes for weights with cardio (alot of jumping - but NOT with a box involved) and see if I can get through that. I also have an old Susan Powter step tape along with some benches and will see if it is any better for me.

The saga continues.... I am not willing to give up!

I was able tokeep up pretty well with an old (1993) Susan Powter step tape today. I will try that until I get comfortable with it and hopefully move up to The Firm Series. It is just too much hopping and bouncing and changes for me right now.
