It seems to me that there are a lot of peeps on this bored who are stay at home moms. ( I hope I can do that one day)
But for those who are at work during the day, do any of you have appliances that you use at work?
I wish I could have a juicer and a blender at work. So I can just bring a baggie of veggies and fruits to either juice or make a GS. I don't get to drink any juice during the week b/c I'm hardly home. With school and all......
I was just curious.

I was thinking about bringing my juicer to work a few days ago, but I think the pulp would start to smell in my garbage can near my desk. I guess I could put it in a ziploc bag before tossing in the trash. I could perhaps flush it in the bathroom. I would love to be able to make fresh juice! When I did a juice fast, I went home at lunchtime to make my juice. I want to do a juice feast and that's an issue.

Or just supposed to be working close to a computer! :D
I can't see bringing an appliance to work, I usually just pack a salad, or whatever I had for dinner the night before, a few tea bags, water & some fruit.

How about packing your juice and green smoothies.. carry some mason jars with you?? Then you can get your juice in :)
I usually take coconut water, orange juice and then 2kg of oranges..then just replenish the citrus when I need/ bring a full carrier bag of fruits every couple of days.
I work a 50-55hour week..so err.. I am at work more than at home.. my kitchen has cobwebs ..cos I hardly go in there!!

What happened to thermos's? Cooler bags, etc? A personal blender works as well. I take mine whenever I travel. Have knife and blender, will travel.

I work a 9-5 job (but for me I get to work at 7:30 & leave at 6:30pm)...
I take the Magic Bullet with me alot of times when I go to work. It's great...It's small & depending on what I'm going to eat (or drink) that day...
I take either the large container for smoothies or the small one for making pates or spreads or nut butters...
Other than that, everything else goes with me in a zip lock baggie or a tupperware...We have a nice breakroom at work with a refrigerator & that helps alot...

I have a standard lunch that I take almost every day:
-good sized salad, with my homemade dressing in a 2 oz. Tupperware container
-some flax crackers or rye bagels or something and a small container of some nut cheese or a pate to spread on them.
-a plum or two
-a cut apple and a banana for afternoon emergencies or to eat on the way to swimming after work.
Additionally, I keep some homemade trail mix in my work drawer for really hungry (or tense) days, and a few bars.
Then for supper I'm generally not too hungry, so I eat whatever looks good--more fruit, a raw dessert, nuts, etc.
I don't like tht thought of making a blender mess at work, but I do like to travel in the car with a big ole' green smoothie. I made a 5 hour trip this weekend with a smoothie (including an avocado) and a couple more pieces of fruit. The smoothie keeps me really full and satiated, and the extra fruit is for the munchies that surface when I travel.

I go to work at 6:30am and get home at 7:30pm. I cannot take a blender, because I don't have a desk job. (I work in a hospital laboratory.) I do take a knife, avocados, tomatoes, and onion for a down-and-dirty guacamole sometimes, and usually take about 16oz of green smoothie for my morning break. I always have a Lara bar and nuts on hand for emergencies. I don't usually eat a lot of fruit outside of my smoothies, but I am considering upping my intake of fruit. (I have been leery of eating much fruit, due to my diabetes, but I now seem to have reversed that!)
If I am lazy in the morning, I just get some salad at the salad bar in the cafeteria, but fortunately, this is rare.

I make a Vita-Mix size green smoothie in the morning and pour it in 2 1 quart mason jars. I put one in the fridge at work and drink one for breakfast. It usually carries me until dinner.

I think I am the only one that walks around the hospital and school with my cooler in tow. I probably look like a dork....but oh well.

It usually carries me until dinner.A possibility for transport to consider. Get a one quart thermos and put it in the freezer with the cork out the night before using so that it freezes the inside really cold. Then when you make your GS in the morning fill the thermos all the way up so that after the cork (stopper) is in its air free. Now drink whats left for your breakfast. Last when you get to work put the thermos in the refer to help keep the GS as cold as possible until used.

I wish I was just staying at home with my family, but I am very lucky. My work is virtual so yes I'm working, but also yes, I'm at home with my kitchen!
Lots of positions are moving towards virtual. I'm a corporate recruiter and my husband is a software developer. He'll be 100% virtual in a couple of months as well. I think we're going to need two houses at that point. Honestly, I know we have it good but I searched a while for a virtual position. It was very important to me.

These are all good ideas.
I have a thing that I carry my GS in. On days I have school I have nothing but GS. I make one and put it in a cup to drink on my way to work. The other two are in one container. for lunch and dinner.
I guess what I was getting at is the lack of time I have to make the green smoothies. and mostly I want more juice. One of the juicer's I have is massive. Big and round and hard to clean. The other looks like an older popcorn maker. the ones you put the butter on top of to melt while the popcorn is popping. and that thing is loud and violent. it pops the pulp around and around. scarey.
And since I'm sharing a kitchen with the mother in law............................................... ................................. :/

I keep a bag of assorted pieces of fruit in my desk at work....and munch on the go all day long. When I get out on the road, I just bring the bag with me! I stay well hydrated....full...and low-maintenance all day long....and my employers are (generally!) supportive.....except for the juice I got on the company laptop! Ha! ha! Just my experiences.

It's all good! Just try and see what works best for you...The Bullet is actually abouth the same size as a thermos...It's light weight 7 I've never had a mess like you would with a blender...When I'm through with my smoothie, I simply rinse the container, put the top back on it, unplug the Bullert and back in the bag it goes...I wash the container when I get home.
But really, all off the above are great ideas...Try them & see what works best for you and your schedule...I find that variety is great!
