Hey Everyone,
I just wanted to thank all of you for your questions, queries and support. I've been 100% raw for 28 days, which I realize is not that much time, but the longest ever for me - it sort of feels surreal. And through the cravings for cooked and the weird detox, I've found inspiration from all of you on this board ...
and I just spoke to one of my closest girlfriends who has also been toying with the idea of raw for 4-5 years and she told me tonight that she has been 100% raw for the past 2 days and that it was my going for this that inspired her.
So I guess we all pay it forward and keep it going - because we can't even know how many people will be inspired by our example (however humble it may be). So I guess my friend was also by extension inspired by all of you too! Let's keep rawking!

Hi yes im seeing the same with my friends. Ive only managed 2 weeks raw a couple of times sofar but Im always offering friends tasters of my raw creations from Alissa's book & they love it.
This weekend a friend came to stay with me to kick start a detox from caffeine & red meat...it may not be a raw diet she's aiming for yet but its a massive step in the right direction cos this lady was a 10 cups of tea a day type with at least one red meat meal a day! Ive convinced her to start each day with raw fruits for breakfast & to add raw salads to her main meals so fingers crossed she'll be moving nearer to raw with each day.
Im joining the November challenge & truly hope I never go back to cooked again...its the cold wintery UK weather that drew me back to cooked this last time...seasonal veg that gets boiled & mashed like swede or turnip are a favorite of mine so I really need to find some raw recipes for these veggies.

Thanks for the encouragement, lodestar! and you too spicyfull!
Crystalmoon - i think its so wonderful to be able to inspire people who may even be far from being ready to go raw - even just encouraging friends and family to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables and to see how much they respond to adding in healthy additions to meals is amazing! Keep going with the raw journey - I've been 5 years on the path and I've let wintery weather has stop me up short before, and this go round I'm committed to bundling up, using warming spices and maintaining my focus on my health goals - maybe those can help you too!

Thanks Hannah I will experiment with some warming spices in my recipes during the November challenge, thanks for reminding me of this way to keep warm.
Ive also warmed a few things with the dehydrator today & that has really helped alot.
Thanks for helping me realize that I'm impacting those I love. I haven't really appreciated that my husband is drinking a green smoothie every morning with me (I realized it, I just didn't focus on how much good it was doing him--only that it was supporting me!!) and my youngest daughter is eating salads and more fruit and wanting to try juicing. She and I work together, though she has her own apartment. She comes by my desk every day to see what goodies I have that she can nibble on. In fact, I have to carry extras so I'll have something for her! It is a very good feeling.

Yea for you 28 days!!
That is a lot. I have been trying to be consistant for awhile, but keep going off and on. I have determination and will do it at some point. Again, good job :)
