The Tribest Personal blender looks great for the US travel but I am looking for something I can take abroad. Does anyone have experience blending overseas?
Has anyone used the hand crank blender I've seen floating around and will it do greens?!
Cheers,
PS: To clarify going FROM US to UK!
EPPP
I have a Tribest blender, and would certainly take it with me on travels.
It's superconvenient, and it's not really that big.
That hand crank blender (I don't know if you mean the Vortex), has a 1.5 liter can, which seems BIG, for travels, plus it seems unpractical to me since it isn't electric. I know, that's the whole point and might be handy if you go to places where there's no electricity (the jungle?), but if you want to do at least one smoothie a day, or vegetable chopping, or seed grinding (which the tribest does, with the grinding blade) and you have electricity available, why not go for the Tribest? Unless you love using 'natural power'. I'm biased and just love my Tribest, I use it at least twice a day or so, and within seconds you have a great smoothie, or chopped up vegetables, or grind nuts and cacaonibs for fudge/brownies... I have a hand juicer for vegetables/wheatgrass (I know, it's not a blender, but considering the 'hand motor'), but find hand motoring it to be sooo much work, I'd rather go electric. I also used to have a hand chopper in the early days, which worked okay, but I wouldn't buy something like that again.
I've lived abroad for a year and took this type of hand blender with me (I didn't have a Tribest then, didn't even know it existed), and that worked fine as well. But I find the Tribest much more convenient.

Judy: Thanks a bunch! Do you know if the Tribest works in abroad?!
Hmmm, you dó need a converter for the electrical chord if you go to the UK , but you can buy such a thing in hardware stores I think, or online.

I have just looked on the Tribest web site and they actually sell two versions; one for US AND one for overseas use!!! And the thing is so inexpensive you could have two one for traveling here and abroad! I am soooo pleased :p
