Where would be the best place to establish a raw restaurant/cafe?
I'm going to do this in the future, but.. have yet to decide where.
Any opinions on where I would be most sucessful?

No. Hollywood, California.
So, where do you think people are going to think is a good place? Where they live!!!

Somewhere with a lot of (raw) vegans and vegetarians but with not too many competing restaurants. The latter probably isn't much of a problem. Because raw food is a specialty item, location doesn't matter too much (right now) because people will be willing to drive an extra block for it.
Although instead of a restaurant or cafe you might set up a chain of fast raw food snacks and dishes in commuter places. Or maybe something like a hotdog stand but with raw food in it. ;)

Yeah like Beppa said, Ft. Lauderdale. :) Not California & New York where they have many already.

The Pioneer Valley SOOOO needs a raw restaurant. They only juice bar shut down years and years ago. There are a lot of vegans/vegetarians in the area. I know of 2 women who had a prepared raw food business and it was in the paper and everything. I went to the store and they were all sold out (per ususal). The women just moved away and now there is no one to fill the niche.

I'm saying Dallas, Texas. Not only because I live here, but b/c there are ZERO raw restaruants in the area. I've heard there might be one somewhere that serves SOME but little raw. Like just a raw salad or something but nothing like I've heard there is in CA or NY. I don't understand why those two states are more important for this stuff????
I think there might be one in houston but that's 5 hours away.
And i've discovered that there is a lot of raw peeps within an hour or less of Dallas. Tons actually

Great ideas, I'll be sure to please all of you and use rawzeits idea.. a chain should be good! I'll definately consider some of your ideas. =)
I've got a couple years of planning, but eventually you'll see it go up.

I must ditto Ladypeace's vote for Dallas. Try looking for a raw establishment around these parts, and all you hear are the crickets going "chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp." :(

I would love to see nothing but raw food chains in the future, instead of McDonald's every five feet.

Would be great!! I rarely ever eat out anymore. I can make a better salad at home than most restaurants. Also, I don't feel it's the equivalent to someone at the same table eating something I use to like such as pasta or seafood. If they're eating what they consider gourmet, I want to have something interesting and different as well so I don't feel deprived.
