I am sorry if this has been addressed before, but I have read mention of a Master Cleanse for liver cleansing. However, I cannot find a previous thread on this. Can someone please explain or give me a website? I have been drinking carrot juice every morning this week just to jump start a liver cleanse, but I'd like to really be serious on this. Thanks!!

Try using the search engine in the fasting forum - should be able to find a wealth of info and links there. ~ Cathy

There are pages of questions and information on Raw Food Talk. I put master cleanse in the search (banana) link above and came up with this link:

Good luck!

Alissa has an article about "Liver Cleanse" as you enter this Forum, it's at the top of the page that explains the Rules of this site........

By "master cleanse" are you referring to the The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs (the lemon and maple syrup detox/cleanse)?
I have been on Master cleanse for 20 days and I feel great! It was a bit tough the first few days. But Holy Crap (literally) Do I feel better. I'm going for the full 40 days. I have never done a fast before so I thought I would need the full "Monty" to get the most bennefit of the cleanse. I see myself doing this seasonally.
Once I'm done then I'll begin the transition to raw eating.
Looking foward to it!
Can the MC be done using Limes?

This is exactly what I did and it made all of the difference in my transition to raw foods. I plan to begin a 40 day cleanse next month. Congratulations on being half way there - I know the feeling. My first fast ever was 30 days and I felt great after cleansing and if I can say so, I was very proud of myself! :D

Can the MC be done using Limes?
Yes, you can use limes. I would switch periodically using organic lemons and limes. Sometimes I would mix them together to change it up a bit. I also purchased an electric juicer which will yield more juice from either one. I highly recommend reading The Master Cleanser by Stanley Burroughs before you begin. It will answer your questions and help you successfully prepare, especially mentally which is so important I believe. It's only 6 bucks, but here's a free on-line pdf copy I found in the summer.

and here's a great forum also...

I went to the link, read most of it but did not see how many glasses of the lemon aid I'm to drink every day.

6-12 10 ounce glasses will do just fine.

Do you al l have enough energy for life when you go so long without eating??? One big hang up about mine regarding fasting is that I wnat to have enough ooomph to do what I need to do every day and then swim or bike or whatever to stay fit. Just the thought of fasting one day spooks me out. I'm not trying to be flip here ...it's just a big mental leap for me.....
When I first started the Master Cleanse I was weak for a few days then after the initial shock to my body wore off I have been able to exercise regularly with as much energy as I have ever had.
BTW I am currently at 28 days on the fast. It still blows me away!:D

I too recommend the book--lots of good info to support you the whole time and to do a safe breaking of the fast--very important.
Did 8 days a while back and had tremendous energy the entire time so was really a surprise. Thinking of doing it again before year end. Plan to shoot for 10 days next time.

When I first did the MC I had more energy than I think I've ever had in my life. That is what made me want to become raw.
