I believe that she's announced, since then, that the restaurant is off. For now, at least.

I'm just excited to see that she's going to have a nationally aired TV show!!!

The announcement on the home page of this website just 2 days ago! I would think there would be a huge market for this type of resteraunt here in Boston.

Hello everyone, including New Englanders!

I just got my most recent newsletter from Raw New England Community and there is a special announcement in it which should excite many of us.

"A Raw Restaurant in Boston to be opened by Alissa Cohen -- Grezzo (meaning Raw in Italian) opening in the North End the end of the year or early January. Yahoo!!!!!"

It is interesting that there is not much discussion about her latest project on this forum. Am I missing something?

Looking forward to hearing more about it!

Hey Trinity ~ NO KIDDING! We had one in Minnesota (where I am from originally) that was very good but hard to get to with two small babes. Now in Georgia there seems to be more of a market but I don't think there is even ONE specific raw restaurant. WHAAAA!!

Okay-Boston's cool, but if you would please consider moving it about 3 hours WEST, say to the Northampton-Amherst area, I'd be forever grateful. And just think you'd have the 5-college area and you could be part of the off-campus food service, like the other restaurants do. Just think of all those college kids that could find raw now instead of in their 30s or 40s.

Well, I guess that if you have it in Boston, then at least I'd have a real reason to go visit my brother at BAC. At least a raw rest. would make it worth my while. (apologies to brother dan.)

Hey everyone,

Yes, it’s true!

I’m wondering how I’m going to do it, but… I’m RAW so I guess I just won’t sleep! :o

I do have some other announcements to make that I’m SO excited about, but I’ll do that in a couple of weeks. So the biggie for now is that we are opening a totally raw, totally fresh, organic living food restaurant right in the heart of the North End.

There will not be a set menu. It will be what is fresh that day. No left over stuff that’s been sitting around, (my pet peeve) just a blackboard of the freshest food of the day. I’ll probably just be open at night for now and within a month or so open for lunch. It’s a small cozy place and we have a LOT planned for it!

VERY EXCITING!

LOL!

Im so glad your all so excited, me too!

Sure, I will post some pictures and keep you all posted. To be honest, this just came about this week (you all know how quickly I manifest!) so I would love to give you more information but I have not had a chance to even think about it or plan it out fully. Its 4 walls right now so I have people going in this week to re-paint and open up a small partition that’s there and do some of that stuff.

I have a filming to fly out to in LA and will come back on the first day of a 5 day training and then another shoot. so after this next 3 weeks, I’ll be in there getting it built out and ready. But these next 3 weeks are pretty busy! (I’ll fill you guys in soon, lots of fun stuff!) So after that ill start posting pictures and much more info!

I will be looking for experienced chefs and wait staff so send me an email if your in the area and interested. I’ll be sending out a bulk email about that as well soon.

Hello Alissa!

Boy, you don't know how excited I am to have a raw food restaurant right in the smack of Boston where I work. I am sure you will do exceptionally well especially being in the heart where fresh fruits and vegetables are always plentiful and widely available.

For those who know nothing about Boston, the North End, which is known as the "Little Italy", is truly in a beautiful section of the city right next door to Quincy Market (the seat of American history) and Boston Harbor.

Please keep us posted of your progress.

Looking forward to meeting you and other RFTers as well.

Many blessings!

Wayne

Zaphirah, are you familiar with Fanuiel Hall? You'd be closer to the North End if you were at the aquarium rather then Children's Hospital. But you'd be really really close if you were at Fanuiel Hall. The North End is practically across the street if you walked under the highway ramps.

Awesome news! I"m sure it would be a great hit!

If you're ever looking for a second locale for another raw restaruant, there is always my neck of the woods in Boston. That would be Jamaica Plain. We're a very interesting community. Health conscious and socially aware! Ok, that's my shameless plug for my area! LOL. But it's all true! LOL.

Yay!!!! I lived in the North End until I moved here (off the coast of the Cape)!!! That would be such a perfect spot to have a restaurant too, especially now that the awful construction is over!

I am soooo excited about this! I have a close friend in the North End, and we only go out for tea because there is no really good place where I can get a nice raw meal and she can get a nice meal too. We used to hit all the great Italian restaurants, but they don't exactly cater to my new lifestyle. Now we can go out together again and enjoy a nice meal! :)

Alissa how are you going to teach us next weekend (oh my it's next weekend already! Whoo hoo!!!) and get ready for the restaurant??? You really won't be sleeping will ya!? :D

Please please please let me work at the restaurant! I work at some very SAD restaurants right now, this would be a dream come true! I'll try not to drool all over the customers dishes, if I can help it! :D

LOL, sure you can work there. Actually below is the bulk email I just sent out tonight.

I moved this to the discussion area for all to see!

Can’t wait to see you all there!

I sure wish Boulder, CO would get hungry for a raw restaurant--yours Alissa, but we do have an active group I lead, but we are not ready for this here yet even though the community is holistic oriented.

TV show? When? Where? What have I missed? Was this the contact you made way back with a women I believe whose husband is associated with the Food Network or such? Wow..........

Trinity:
Wow, you sure have some great weight accomplishment.

For me NUTS I went nuts over and it put weight on me. I was out of control and now that I am in control and working with a trainer at the gym I can see results I never envisioned in a short time. I increased cardio, learned to use weights and machines properly and cardio daily. Oh water, water is my helper too. The trainer has been a true enhancement and investment into my weight loss program. I was already eating healthy besides the NUT talk here, but also decreased avocados to minimal. I feel great, looking much better than before, not that I was very large, but too large when I read the scale when he put me on it. Training was part of the membership at the gym and that enticed me to continue on after my 5 sessions showed great improvement. My husband is thinking it's just me and the machines, but if he knew I invested in myself, he would have discouraged me and said you can do it on your own. I am so pleased I didn't share it with him as I knew I would get resistance which I didn't need.

Best to you.

Now Doc...great job too....just looking at weight losses and probably missed more along the way, so congrat. to all.

Just in case other folks haven't heard the great news about Alissa's New Resteraunt in Boston called "Grezzo!"

MissVanilla, Alissa herself mentioned in this thread that she is taking applications for wait staff and other positions!
