Yay Me! :D

6 months ago we finally committed to raw foods, and it's been wonderful!!!

We didn't go 100% right away. We cut out most things, but we still used conventional salad dressings, store bought (vegan) granola bars, jarred pickles and olives, and a big portion of our nuts weren't raw (not that I ate many of them to begin with).

Now, we still aren't 100% raw, as we use oil and vinegar with our salads (and I know the vinegar isn't raw). Also spices (which I am unsure about, but not really worried about). Other then that, though, we're totally raw, and loving it!

I've lost 40 lbs exactly so far. I started at 170, and today I am 130!!! A size 15/16 down to a 6!!! It's not my low weight, or even my "goal" yet, but it's wonderful!!! I took some, yipe - bikini shots at the beginning (not pretty, lol), and as soon as my husband is off of work I'll take the 6 months updated shots to compare. Can't wait to see the difference.

My headaches vanished almost immediately (I suffered from horrible headaches, daily). They are gone! Completely!

I have this glow about me. I don't so much see it in my skin, as most raw foodies do, but my aura is just alive and vibrant. I had been in such a slump for several years. Anxiety and depression took over. I could "fake" happy with the best of them, but there was always this lull over me. Not anymore! I feel so HAPPY.

I'm not angered or irritated as quickly anymore, and when I do start feeling those feelings, I get over them pretty quickly (whereas before I was a horrible grudge holder!)

My sleeping has improved, I don't feel as achey, I have a ton more energy. I could go on and on. I love raw foods!

The only thing that hasn't yet improved, and was big on my list for turning to this lifestyle, is this skin condition I have. I've had it since I was 14/15, so 12 or 13 years. Just on my face (couldn't be in a more obvious place, eh?) I've been told it's so many different things, but the latest diagnosis (as of 3 or so years ago) is sebborheic dermatitis (which I guess is essentially dandruff). It's horrible, ALL over my face, and just will not go away. Of course I know I have to be patient, but it's hard. At times it seems as though it's getting better, but the next day it looks full force again. *shrug* annoying as heck! Soooo, if anyone has any advice of things to try, I'm all ears (or eyes, lol).

Overall, I'm in love with raw foods. My entire family is (husband, and 3 small boys)!!! This lifestyle has won us over!!!

what a success story you are! I loved reading of the many health improvements you have enjoyed. :)
My daughter has the same skin condition and got a prescription and it cleared right up in a couple of weeks. She may have also used a topical cream.
