Nama shoyu vs other shoyus?

Is "nama" just a brand name? My local health food store has never heard of nama shoyu but has shoyu by Eden and San-J.

"Nama" means raw or unpasteurized. The brand name of Nama Shoyu is Ohsawa.

The other shoyu sauces are probably pasteurized. If you cannot find it locally and you really want the raw one, Alissa sells it on her site.
