When I went raw, I had been suffering from candida for about a year and abnormal liver function tests for almost four months. It was a vicious cycle since my doctor wanted to figure out what was wrong with my liver before dealing with the candida, yet I had a vague suspicion that the candida was causing the liver problems. Anyway, after a week of raw, my yeast infections disappeared, so I asked my doctor if I could go for more blood work to test my liver again. She consented, and I almost didn't believe it myself when she called me back ecstatic that everything was back to normal. I can't even tell you how happy I am! I almost had to subject myself to a battery of tests at the gastroenterologist, and now I'm healthier than I have been in years. I'm so grateful that I have a supportive doctor who told me to just keep on doing what I'm doing, and she is actually going to tell another one of her patients dealing with the same problems about my story and recommend raw.......how awesome is that??

With all that being said, I want to give a big thank you to Alissa. If I hadn't come across this site, I don't even want to think about what other kinds of tests and health issues I would be dealing with. I'm loving the raw life, and I consider myself very lucky because I have friends and family that are supporting me every step of the way. I'm just so happy right now that I had to share it with everyone.........rawk on!!

How wonderful! Thanks for the info. Great to know that even if I can't see tremendous changes on the outside yet, there's awesome stuff going on inside.

Many congratulations, I do understand just how far you've come! And you have a beautiful doctor. Hopefully there are more of them who are open to alternative therapies out there. :) I was fortunate also that I had a great orthopedic surgeon who stuck with me...he knows I assited with healing my (severely fractured) knee with my diet and other therapies. I should be in a wheelchair based on case studies, but I'm not and doing better than ever. Rawk on for sure.
