Well, so far I am off to a good start. This being only day 1 I am not surprised. I am kind of nervous about how the next 2 days will go though. My faith is getting me through it. Tomorrow is when I will need strength to overcome the hunger and the temptation. Can anyone tell me what I might expect?

The hardest thing for me was not hunger but habit. I actually missed putting something solid into my mouth. AND, I found I had a ton of extra time on my hands because I wasn't planning for and sitting down to a meal. Find an activity to fill that time up that you would normally be eating... it helps! Plus after about day 3 your energy might SOAR!! :D

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I will need it tomorrow while I am work at McDonald's. I got through today fairly easy. A slight hint of temptation when I went to leave. I just reminded myself what I was doing this for. I am hoping to be completely back on raw foods at the end of the month. I also plan to purchase Alissa's book.

Water fasts are tough stuff. Have you ever fasted before? I'm on a 40 day juice fast. I was able to make it 2 days on water after a week or more on juice. Today may have to be just water, as the dc drank all my juice last night while i was out. LOL!

Tell me how you are feeling.

Today is day 2 of my water fast and I am still going strong. I am surprised because I imagined being ill from lack of food. I was able to walk out the door from work fairly easily. Yes, I craved for the food but I did not touch it. I keep reminding myself what this is about for me. Both health wise and spiritual. I have not fasted since I was a teenager, but never for this length of time. It will be 48 hours as of 5:00 PM.

Water fasts may be termed the most difficult, but I find they are the easiest for me. I tend to operate in extremes, so no calories entering my body makes more sense psychologically then some. And juice costs more than I can afford right now.

Nevertheless, I find fasting of any kind difficult, as food is something I and probably most people are very psychologically attached to. And attachments are hard to break!

Hello:)

Be prepared for a nasty headache on the third or forth day , hand tough though it will pass after a couple of days!

I would consider a juice fast if you are on your feet all day and water on your days off:) :)

Just a suggestion:)

I made it 68 hours out of the 72. By day 3 at 10:30 AM i felt woozy and called it. Until then I hardly noticed any problems.

You did an awesome job! How do you feel now after the fast, any changes?

Well, the first day after the fast I really noticed no changes. Then, on Thursday I had a great spiritual breakthrough. So yes it has changed me in many ways. Starting on November 8th I am going back to raw as completely as possible. My main dilemma has been low income. I need to figure out ways to cut down the costs. I have heard of people who wait until the store closes to go through what they wasted. I am just nervous that this is not wise when it comes to vegetables and fruits. The Farmer's Market has closed for the winter here. So I really am limited. I will find a way though.

Income is my main problem as well. I've figured out various ways to work around it and set off writing a book a while back...been working on that one and hope to finish soon. Just have to test out some recipes still to make sure I've got the measurements exact (I usually eyeball things).
