So far I've used spinach in my GSs. I also used kiwi and cucumber--do they count as "green," even though they're not leafy? I figure if they're green, they still have chlorophyl, right?

Hi Kitty!
Cucumber for sure. Dandelion greens, parsley, spinach, kale, lettuce, strawberry tops, purselane, etc...you can put just about anything in there.

Kiwi is fine too but is in the "fruit" department...even though it's green.
But yeah, toss er' in there!!! The more the merrier! LOL

( : Hope that helps.

Oh, if you have alissa's book, take a look at the food combining chart to make sure your combinations aren't causing trouble...

I love cutting my kiwis in half and spooning them out.
Cucumbers with the skin on I would consider green.

I have been on a kale, apple lemon kick
or pear and dandelion greens
