Seventy Pounds Gone!!!

I started my weight loss journey at the very end of '03. I tried lots of cruddy diets like atkins, ww, south beach, OA, etc. I didn't learn about raw til about 2 years ago. Then I wasn't able to stay raw for long due to my food addiction. I have been raw since 9-7. I started a juice fast on Oct 1. Since sept 7th I have lost 27 lbs. But even more impressive is that today I hit the 70 pounds lost mark!!!

I am very excited. I have about 10 more pounds to go and my weight loss journey will be over and my weight maintenance can begin. It's been a long 4 years-with lots of stuggles and many many many of the pounds put back on, and taken off again, and again and again-but I am confident that if I stay raw my food battles will be a thing of the past and those unwanted pounds will never land on my thighs again! :cool:

Losing weight is such an encouraging and inspiring thing! For everyone! lol.. It makes you feel great because, well, you feel great, and it makes others feel great because you are motivating and inspiring them to stay on track or get on track. Congrats!!

Zaphira, I just read the most recent entry on your blog and I can tell you will be a great cheerleader for the rest of us who have a long way to go. I love your enthusiasm and empowerment. It shines through! Congratulations! Your attitude about maintenance is so encouraging--not like you're DONE! I know you can teach me a lot. Your endurance on your fast is fantastic. congratulations and good luck on losing the last 10 pounds. I have been struggling with losing my last 10 pounds for the last few months! I think my body thinks its in maintenance mode already. But I won't give up the fight I will get there eventually!

yes! I will try to get some pics up today or tomorrow. I have lost the usb cable to my camera in the move and my scanner isn't hooked up yet.

Congrats on the new marker!! losing 70 lbs is a huge accomplishment. I know how you feel too cuz I've been there. Keep up the great work. I wish I was at the point of having to lose that "last 10 pounds" but unfortunately I have about 45 more to go. One day soon I'll be there. Maybe you should do "10 pound bootcamp" like the show on tv!! LOL

I'm so excited for/by you YOU RAWK! I just gotta say that the feeling of accomplishment you have now (for me) just never goes away. Especially when I look at my before pictures. Even more when I show them to someone and they say "That isn't you!" <(most common response)

Cholesterol… 8.4 to 2.5 UK (324 to 97 US)
Blood Pressure… 184/50 to 120/80

Pigged out the whole way! Avocados/Nuts/Oils/Dates/Whatever looks good at the time and plenty of it!

Lost most of the weight in about 16 months.
