ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh i know what your talking about!!

well.. i dont get stomach aches...
but last summer when they were in season.. i ate alot of them.. and they always ALWAYS gave me the worst indisgestion.. omg it was horrible!! no matter how well i combined them... mono ate them.. acually mono ate all my meals at that time..
but boy.. it was bad.. id get bloated.. gurgling stomach... ughh... sick smelling gas ( sorry! LOL )
BUT... i just seen the first cherries from california in my farmers markets... expensive yes... but i got some anyways... had them a couple nights ago......no problems whats so ever!!
local cherries will be in season soon... so im hoping.. that my problems have disapeared!

in my first year raw.. i had the same severe problems with blueberries... but last year.. i could eat as many as i wanted without any problems...

so dont give up hope..
maybe your body just needs some time to adjust or something?

lil fairy,

'member in another post you said us Cal. folk have all the fun? Well, uhhh, yeah! :D I purchased over 4 pounds of ORGNIC cherries last Sat. for $3.50 a pound!!!! Ate them all by Sunday. :p SO gooooood! I think they are my favorite fruit.

Actually, we're going to SD tomorrow, staying overnight, then heading back to town so we don't miss the market. GREAT organic oranges ~ oh! and CHERRIES! ~ :)

If I get a stomach ache from cherries it's from "gas". My friends and I will all go out and pick cherries, eat a whole grocery bag full, then spend the night together. You can guess what that may be like, see cherries effect us all about the same.

My problem is fats and oils, they give me horrible stomach aches. I can have cheese as long as it's not cooked. (Even before I was trying raw, I coudn't eat cooked cheese with out getting sick.)

Is it any better if you eat the cherries with some thing else? (For example, if I eat nuts, I have to also eat some thing like oranges or tomatoes.)

Well, you could try it and give us the results.

Then again "problem" "might" be ~ ".....My friends and I will all go out and pick cherries, eat a whole grocery bag full..."

thanks for the replys! I dont think that eating nuts along with them would be a good idea (I have a problem with fats (no gallbladder) and nuts are the worst on me) and I think that watching portion sizes IS A MUST for me ,my body can only handle so many cherries!

No I would not recomend that at all. As I was saying, I have problems with nuts. Eating some thing else with them helped, so I was saying if you eat a small amount of cherries with say, a salad, does it help. :)

HA! Balck cherries are known to have a laxative effect and in some cases, diarreaha. I can eat a whole bag and be fine but my sis eats a handful and BAM--she's always running back to the toilet! :p

I love cherries, so much so that I drive 2 hours to Yakima to buy them by the flat, or bushel or whatever you call it.

They are delicious, I actually have four cherry trees in my yard, one a rainier, those are the huge yellow/red super expensive cherries, and the other is bing dark red super sweet cherries, then two baby cherry trees that are dark red cherries.

I still don't get enough, so I buy some, but they are SOOOOO good.

I used to get diarhea when I ate them, but now that I'm raw, I have no challenges at all.

I would say that your system will digest them easier, once you've been 100% raw for a while.
