hi. sorry i know this isn't in the right section, but since i can't msg NYbutterfly and she didn't see my msg in the other health section, i thought i might try my luck here.
YES! I had chronic constipation and the chiropractor totally fixed it. Same with my cousin.
i was wondering if you could give me more information about that. thanks!

Hi! Glad I found your post to me!
Well, I don't know the science behind chiropractics so I can't exactly explain HOW my constipation was fixed. The way I understand it, as the dr. explained to me, is that when the spine is aligned properly it allows our body to function better and not be so crunched up on the inside and out. My lower vertebrae are not fused together, I have scoliosis, and my neck has no cartilage. I was always constipated, mostly from stress, and I held so much of that stress throughout my body. With my first adjustment, I was feeling AWESOME and going to the bathroom within 30 minutes. I really don't know how it worked, but it did, and it still does.
With my cousin... she was just a baby and chronically constipated, making her a very cranky, fussy, hard to feed baby. My aunt went to her chiropractor appt, baby in toe, and the dr. asked if he could adjust the baby for her. Well, he adjusted her and she pooped in her diaper right then and there! My aunt FINALLY had a happy baby.
So, like I said I really don't know how to explain this, as I'm no expert, but that is my personal experience. Hope it helps!

Hi...
Well my chiro was in florida and now in NH but I'm a born and bread New Yorker, hence the name. I am very regular now, the chiro and a raw food diet help tremendously. My visits ranged from 35-50 a visit without insurance. Hope it all helps!

Many chiro have sliding scales or discounts for students seniors or broke people. you could also ask about payment plans because usually they want to see you a little more often the first few times you go. Some may also what you to get x-rays but if you have no insurance and can't afford them find an experienced chiro that may work with you with out them. As a massage therapist I have referred clients to chiropractors often. I try to refer to one that I know does gentle adjustments and doesn't whip the neck. You can ask you chiro to use and "activator" which is a clicking tool that is more specific doesn't involve pulling hard on the neck which always freaks me out.
