For those in the Tampa, FL area

I found hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, and brazil nuts in the shell at the St. Petersburg Saturday market today for only $2.50lb. I tasted all but the walnuts and they are fantastic. I think it will be worth it to shell my own nuts. They also have a local organic vegetable stand if anyone wants to check it out.

I almost went today but felt I needed to cross some things off my 'to do' list instead. I can't go next week, but I am first in line for the week after! Thank you so much for sharing your nut find.

The Dunedin market started up again on Friday, I had already made plans for the day, but am defiantly going next Friday to see what they've got going on.

I am near Tampa (about 40 minutes on the sun pass). I am in New Port Richey and we have a large meet up (about 60) once per month. We also have a co-op of about 300 and we order nuts, seeds, Nama Shoyu etc at wholesale. The big order comes in once per month , so it might be worth it to make the trip.

I have never been to the Dunedin market. I will have to check it out. I didn't know there was one.

As for the meet up, I was trying to make it to the one in Clearwater but kept having to work. I don't have a regular schedule so it is hard to plan.

Have any of you heard about the Pinellas branch of Sweetwater? I think they sold most of the memberships for the season but I want to look into doing it next year. I am going to do some research and see if they sell their excess.

I didn't know their was a Dunedin market until I saw the fliers in DT Dunedin. I was there last week during the market, but couldn't get over to the market area before they closed. (only open 'till one) It's rather small, but much closer to me than St. Pete. I'm still checking it out on Friday.

Sweetwater is an organic community farm in Tampa. They sell memberships each year for the growing season and I think require a few hours of participation. Here is the web address:

Well, not really, 'cause I love the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains having only moved 3 1/2 years ago from Clearwater. I never get tired of the woods.
