Flax Seeds

What is the difference between the flax seeds? I've seen golden flax sees, beige flax seeds and a darker brown flax seed. Is there a difference? I have 2 different kinds, but not the golden kind. Does that make a difference?

I've tried the golden and the darker brown. I prefer the dark ones. They just taste better to me.
