Freezing zucchini and yellow squash?

My dh found a great sale on zucchini and yellow squash and brought home a ton of it, more than we can eat before it starts to go downhill. Will freezing it keep it in good condition or will it turn to mush once thawed? We mostly use it for spaghetti so it would need to stay firm. Has anyone tried this?

actually, I don't think zukes freeze well. Like cucumbers, they will get mushy when frozen. I know in some SE Aisan countries people freeze cukes and eat the flesh with a scoop, like ice cream(?) I think it would be ok to freeze them for mixing into things like sauces, bread, crackers and dips. Freeze 1 and see how it works. Good luck!
