Infections

I currently have an infection. It's a wisdom tooth - not erupted yet. But the gum over/around it is swollen and painful and reddish. Is there anything, short of antibiotics, that I can use to help it go away faster?

When my other tooth was erupting, it got infected a bit too but only after a part of the tooth was showing, so this is weird to me. I'd appreciate any help.
