Greetings to all!!
I'm sure this has been discussed before..
Is there a source, or sources for accurate information on the caloric content of the prepared raw foods that dominate the various raw forums on the net??..
The reason that I'm asking is that when I get around to committing myself to 100% raw in the next month or so; I would like to be able to accurately monitor my daily intake of food, as well as my caloric energy expenditure from exercise..
I'm well aware that obsessing about calories, exercise, & body weight can be detrimental to long term success..
However, each of the previous four times that I attempted to go raw, I was not successful..
I have the type of personality that will benefit from structure, so the following I feel will be successful for me..
I believe my primary reason for failing to get raw was a lack of committment to the entire process..
I feel that monitoring myself this way for the first 3-6 months will allow me to understand my body's needs as it begins both the short & long term changes that will occur as I work my way to a 100% raw food diet..
I intend to keep a diary, a food purchase log, a food consumption log, & an exercise log..
The diary will document the entire process: my feelings; hopes & aspirations; illnesses; detox symptoms; spiritual changes; the results of exercise, colonics, meditation, yoga, etc.
The log books will document what I purchase to feed myself, what I actually eat on a daily basis, & the results of any form of exercise, weight training, yoga, martial arts, etc..
My goal is to keep the diary & logs for 1 year so that they may possibly be of some benefit to researchers in the future; as well as to try & let me achieve success moving from SAD to raw..
In an ideal world raw fruit would constitute my sole source of sugar as I attempt a 100% raw diet..
However, since sugar consumption so completly dominates me, both in the past & at the present time, I will probably need to use assembled raw desserts as a temporary means of transitioning to 100% raw..
Since I have had a lifelong addiction to sugar in any form, but especially processed sugars, I feel that it will be essential to keep track of the calories in the raw desserts that I prepare; as I wean myself off of this debilitating addiction..
Thus, my question as to a source for caloric information on raw desserts..
Thanks for any help that anyone is able to give me!!
Bruce
