I'm really ill - my doctors signed me off work for a week. I have an infection in my lymph nodes.
I've been feeling tired a run down for a fortnight and thought I might have an infection - but last night it went made and I'm swollen, red and oozing lymph.

She's prescribed a coctail of pharmaceuticals - steroids, antihistamines, antibiotics - which I am loath to take but don't see any other option right now.

Any advice or just some tea and sympathy would be nice :)

thanks

So sorry that you aren't feeling well. I would say to listen to your body. If you aren't hungry don't eat. Drink liquid such water to help to flush the virus. For me what works so well even when i was having bronchite, pneumonia or other cold, i would take raw garlic and fresh lemon juice. You just cute smally the garlic and swallow it and then take some squized lemon juice in your water to rince your mouth. It seems unberrable to do when you are sick but this is worth the effort.

Best wishes and hugs!

I am a fan of the lemonade (water, fresh lemon juice, agave) and cayenne pepper ANYTIME I am not feeling well. I sure do you hope you feel better VERY SOON! I'm with you, I try to NOT take what the dr. prescribes however since I am NOT a doctor I would never tell you to do that. Listen to your body if you can and you'll know what to do. Take care and let us know how you are doing! :)

Wow that must be quite an infection! Cleansing the body with healing juices and teas would help I am sure. For some people carrot juice or apple juice helps to cleanse toxins out of the intestine/colon. Also slippery elm bark powder made as a tea. The lemon and cayenne mentioned above is great too. ACV also. Both the lemon and ACV help to alkalize your body and right now your body needs the help.

Steroids OMG!

Heres to hoping you feel better very quickly.

Keep us updated. All the Rx sounds crazy but I know I certainly have been sick enough to take them also. No condemnation here. I know what it is to be so ill that you can't even think anymore and just want relief.

Thanks for your kind words guys. I think a herbal concoction will be very soothing and helpful.

I've just spent the afternoon with a friend of mine who is a healer. She is able to communicate with the body and ask it what it wants! She has recently done a new course in metamedicine and it looks at 'conflict-shocks' in the body. We have done a lot of delving and emotional work today. A lot of it was to do with my work and the way I feel about it. I am going to take it easy and she has given me the CDs of the secret which I will listen to to put me in a better emotional frame of mind.

She was able to ask my body which pills it wanted and surprisingly it wanted the course of antibiotics (she is normally against people taking them which is why I say surprisingly), the steroids came up as neutral and the anti-histamine came up as harmful.

I've decided to take the anti-biotics and she how I am over the next 2 days. If I need the steriods to take the inflamation down then I will review again. I have to go back to the doctors in 2 days so I will be able to get an objective opinion. She asked my body how long it needs to heal and the answer she got was 24 hours to see an improvement and 4 days to get better. Which is good news :)

It's H's birthday today so I haven't been able to give him his normal birthday treat IYSWIM ;). Poor Mr shooting star!

If you take the antibiotics it's important to repopulate your gut with friendly bacteria when you are done with the course. So be sure to take one or more of the following: kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut (homemade!), kimchi or probiotic supplements.
