Has anyone else experienced this? Twice now I've made a dish that used ground nuts. The first was the fettuccine alfredo with the macadamia nuts and cashews and the second was a recipe by Ani Phyo using ground almonds and sunflower seeds. Both caused the same bodily response of nausea. I couldn't eat more than 3 bites without wanting to hurl. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be because I didn't soak the nuts first (in either case) or is it possible they are just too rich with fats? I'm curious to know if others have had similar experiences and if soaking rather than using unsoaked had same affect.

Thanks,
Danielle

Did you have this reaction to nuts before you went raw? If so, perhaps your body is just sensitive to nuts.

I never ate nuts in the manner I'm eating them now. I can eat them a few at a time in my hand, but I've never mixed them with other ingredients or processed them in a food processor. Now, I will say, when I combined them with dates to make donut holes and such, I didn't have the same reaction.

The only thing similar when eating the SAD diet was when I was stationed in Japan. I tried Cheese Gyozas and they were awesome....the first few times. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't even stomach the thought of one. It wasn't like I pigged out on them at any time. Just 2 or 3. They're sort of similar to cheese sticks, but Japanese style. I have no idea what kind of oil they were fried in. But the physical reaction I've experienced with the 2 items I mentioned is pretty similar to that of the gyozas. Guess enough is enough already!

Maybe your body is just rejecting fats right now? Like a cleansing detox thing?

I get the same reaction with almonds with the skins on, or when the nuts aren't raw. I was never much of a nut eater becauase of it. Now I make sure my almonds are soaked and I remove the skins, this has helped.

Another reason could be that your body does not want fat right now. Try eating avos and see if you feel the same way?

I'm fine with avocados. I'd assume the same thing as you with the fat issue, though after the first bite, it's triggered by my tongue. Can't stomach the taste after that. Maybe the response is occurring on my tongue to keep me from putting more in my stomach. :)

happens to me. especially with the alfredo recipe. i find that too much nuts or fat in general just makes me want to puke. this could quite posssibly be because i live in florida where its scorching hot and i dont need a coat of insulation.
