Hey Everyone,

Ive only been eating raw for a week but I've got my book and dehydrator on the way. The recipes intrigued me to go for the gold.

Anywho, in the past vacations always ruined any diet regime I was following. How do you plan for being away from your home?

Now most of my vacations are going to visit family so, preparing food isnt that difficult but still being out of a routine is tough.

Any and all suggestions welcome!

I make a bunch of granola bars and individually wrap them. And I have a small travel blender. Um, let see...I look to see if the town (or state) I'm heading to has a good whole foods type of store. Travel with a baggie full of almonds, rasins, cranberries, etc. So the airplane "treats" aren't tempting. The best strategy for me has been to stock the fridge...wherever I'm going even if they insist they want to do it before you come. I say, I couldn't ask you to do that..."I'll pick up what I need...can I bring you anything while I'm out?" Otherwise you end up eating un-raw honey, nuts, and anything else they "think" is raw. I hope that helps!

There is no place I have travelled domestically.....or abroad....where I could not find produce marketplaces....farms....or individual vendors. So: I just stocked up on whatever was fresh and in season....wherever I happened to be. Of course, I STILL usually bring a bit of food....apples or whatnot......just in case I get stuck or lost.......so I kind of cover both bases....heh...heh.......

-In my experience, you would literally have to deliberately go to some desolate and remote area......like deep in the desert....or arctic....and even THEN you'd probably find SOME store that trucks in fresh produce of some kind.

-Just my experiences.
