View Full Version : Organic coconut oil
Can anyone explain how organic coconut oil exists when I've never heard of an organic coconut? Maybe organic coconuts do exist?

I don't know. I've never had the impression that groves of coconut trees were sprayed or anything like that. I always thought they were pretty hardy. Maybe they don't really need pesticides?
Perhaps someone who lives in a coconut-growing area could shed some light on this. I'd be interested in knowing, too.

I bought organic coconut oil that is cold pressed by hand. I have been using it on my skin and I oil pulled with it twice but not for 20mins. I can't go that long yet. The problem I have is that it is that it is getting colder here and the oil has gone hard in my cabinet. I guess I am going to have to find a new place to store it since it is getting colder or place the jar in warm water. What a bummer. I am so lazy!

coconuts grown locally are just growing wild! no one really takes care of the trees, they get water from the rain and sprout their fruit and there you go! So - Im assuming their organic!
as far as oil pulling - you can put the oil in your mouth in the hardened state. just scoop some out - the warmth of your mouth will melt the oil very quickly. I actually prefer putting it my mouth in this state since when it's liquid... I tend to spill more down the front of me than I get into my mouth! (bit of a klutz i suppose!!) ;) :D
