Since most of us are striving to support organic farming practices I thought more people should see this:

I was really surprised. Be sure and click on the independent organic companies to learn who to support!

How scary is that? So even if I buy organic, chances are pretty good that I'm still supporting agribusiness!

thanks for the link!!

i am becoming more and more aware of the fact that we have to be critical of everything and in the end rely on ourselves (i want to get a house and plant some fruit trees!!! AAA!)

That, and the fact that the "organic standards" will also change to accommodate them - it will allow a number of agricultural practices (bioengineering, irradiation, etc), none of them natural, to now be counted as organic. ~ Cathy

Whoa, when's this happening? How will I know what's really organic?

KittyMom, we won't know unless we're watching.

I think the best solution is to support your local organic farmers by buying from them at Farmers Markets, connecting with local CSA (community supported agriculture) and growing our own food as much as possible.

Thank you for the link!!!!

I'm being super cautious as to who I give my hard-earned dollars to. Plus, being a staunch animal rights person, I'm doubly cautious. This helps tremoundously.
