Hi Everyone,

Im new on her, Ive been looking into doing a fast, so to begin with Im going to do a 10 day fast.

Im not sure which sort of fast to do.
Ive heard of water and juice fasts. I would ideally like to lose 10-15lbs to begin with.

Any help would be gratefully received. I will be staring my this Friday.

well only you know your limitations and strengths, but IMHO I think a 10 day water fast for your first fast is rather ambitious. When I first started out I really STRUGGLED thru 3 days on as much juice as I could hold. LOL! Have you been raw for awhile? That will make a HUGE difference in your detox.

personally when i began my first fast i gave myself the goal of making it through the first day... then i asked myself to make it to the end of the day 3... once i achieved that, i asked myself to make it to day 5.

i gave myself short goals to achieve so i wouldn't feel overwhelmed with the prospect of "OMGoddess, i have to do this for HOW many more days???"

i would definitely suggest using juice instead of only water. the juice feeds and heals your body... and flushes at the same time. very beneficial IMO.

when i do a juice fast my goal is to drink 160 oz of juice and water/tea per day.

at first i keep track and then i can 'feel' when i need to add another 20oz glass of water. when i juice... i drink 40 oz at a time. just drink it down on the spot and then clean the juicer.

my favourite juice at this time is: carrot/spinach/garlic/cucumber/fennel/apple. it's got such a wonderful taste!

spinach - one small ball (about the size of a golf ball) [i make it into a ball]
1-4 cloves of garlic depending on where i'm going for the day LOL
1/2 an english cucumber
approx 1/4 c of fresh fennel (i don't measure it though)
1 apple (gala is my apple of choice right now)
and enough carrots to fill the 40 oz.

and really nice light juice is watermelon... rind and all. soooo many nutrients in watermelon rind... the juice is greenish and yummy!
