I am tired and mellow but I have been sleeping like a BABY. I'm loving it. About a year ago I had to go on Ambien for insomnia. and as fate would have it-I was one of those "negative side effects" crazies. I woke up w/ a 2 liter bottle of root beer and an empty pringles container beside me-and absolutely NO memory about it at all. So, let's just this works much better! LOL!

I am so mellow it's annoying me. ;) I'm so used to being high strung that I find myself talking like all those "patient" parents that used to aggravate me so much. But the children are happier for it, and so am I.

In total I have lost 18 lbs since Sept 7th. Not bad for 1 month's work, eh?

Wow, that's really great! I am thinking about starting a juice fast tomorrow. I have been steadily gaining weight, even being raw, and I feel a fast is my only choice to just clean out. How much have you lost in these 8 days? How long will you go for? How much juice do you drink each day?

Thanks and good luck, keep up the good work!

I've been drinking about 16-24 oz of juice. Usu a cup for breakfast and one for dinner. I drink water with lemon in between. I drink about 90-120 oz (juice and water) a day.

I think I've lost about 10 lbs in 9 days. My secondary goal is to get to 125 or so (my primary goal is to heal some internal issues that have been plaguing me for years.) . I know I will probably gain about 10 lbs of weight a few days after the fast ends-water weight and digesting foods. Then I will again be raw for life and I can get into exercising, so my weight hopefully will go down a little bit after that. I'd like to end up around 130 by next summer.

This fast has been incredibly easy compared to others I have done. I think #1 is that my stress factor was cut by 90% when we moved an hour away from my very negative mother. #2 is that 3 1/2 weeks 100% helped SO much with cooked food cravings. #3 I've done this before, so my detox hasn't been as intense.

Good luck to you!

I started my fast too.. I am actually doing one using green tea because for me green tea helps me to not feel hungry! :o Today is day one and I feel more better about doing this since reading this thread and your progress.

Congrats on your weight lost Zaphirah. I need to do a fast myself, I always wonder though if it's good for someone with PCOS, some say no and some say yes.

docsharp... ive never heard that. i have pcos and was hoping to do a fast at some point.... is that just to do with blood sugar issues that usually go along with pcos? ithought it would be incredibly healing and maybe even help to rebalance some hormones. id love to hear what youve heard against this.

I think I heard it wasn't good because of the blood sugar issues? As far as I know I don't have Blood Sugar issues so I'm not really sure. I'd like to try it and on days when I've only had lemon water I start feeling nausea I think that might be detox though it's hard to tell if it's the PCOS or detox.

what is PCOS?

i have diabetes but fasting doesn't bother my sugar levels at all. i think the combination of gaining health, loosing weight and processing the juice quickly is working for me. i have nice low glucose readings now.

pcos = polycystic ovarian syndrome
attatched to insulin resistance.

ive heard mixed opinions,
but im hoping to heal/help it through raw.
well,
ive helped my blood sugar already.

im no longer blacking out and fainting all the time!
