Hi. I made mention that I went to this resteraunt in another thread and someone requested that I post a review. If I had known I would be doing this I would have paid more attention! But anyway, I wasn't disappointed in the resteraunt at all.
Menu Selections
There were many, many menu selections. From appetizers to smoothies to entrees to dessert. If memory serves me correctly the menu was 6 pages long! Not all the items are 100% raw though. A few slight transgressions like seeded bread with a veggie burger. But the wait staff was quick to respond with raw substitues when we requested it.
I had a sumptious portabello/ walnut burger with a special raw sauce. Suprisingly delicious for me since I was once a fan of the beef burgers. With my entree came "sun chips" which were pulp from juices pressed into chip shape and dehydrated. They were a wonderful texture with just the right amout of crunch and salty factor to be sastifying. I also had the dehydrated onion rings. They were small and a bit dry but still quite tasty. Just don't expect the traditional oversized onion rings that you'd get in a less health conscious establishment.
For dessert, I ordered the raw blueberry pie. It's served cold with a crust of nuts and dates. Very, very nice. It was light, not to sweet and full of wholesome blueberry flavor. The cust was a nice blend of nuts and agave nector. The plate was drizzled with a cashew butter cream. Very nice presentation indeed. My friend ordered the raw apple pie but she liked me blueberry pie better. I had to beat her off so I could enjoy it myself! Next time, I'll wear my "No Sharing" T-Shirt. LOL
I would definetely go back to this resteraunt because I didn't even scratch the surface in trying all that I would have liked too. There is a beach not 5mins away from the resteraunt so that you can walk off your meal but you won't feel bloated when you leave. I ate tons and I was satisfied but no uncomfortable. The miracle of raw food for you!
Also this resteraunt has prepacked food selection. So you can take some raw goodness home with you, if you'd like. There is a place for purchasing books that support the raw life style. I bought Victoria Boutenko's "Green for Life" there. There also supplements like Maca, goji berries, raw cacao there for purchase. The chef/owner of the resteraunt teaches raw food preperation classes every month. Something I'd like to check out soon.
Decorum
The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Although the mood is set for something a tad bit more formal at night with light candles on every table and velvet curtains pulled down. The place fills up at night, so reservations are encouraged in the evening, I'd say.
All in all, The Organic Garden in Beverly,MA was a very pleasant experience. One that I would like to repeat very soon.
