Since cutting out processed sugar five days ago my stool is seriously green. Have never experienced this before in my life. It looks like an alien. Isn't it suppose to be brown?

You say cutting out sugar, but how long have you been eating raw? And how do you mean sugar, just putting white sugar on things or eating things that have been made with sugar?
Because as far as I know, green poo is the result of eating green foods. Just like with any other colour. Try a day on blueberries :p

Are you drinking green smoothies?

Eating avocados, green smoothies, spinach salads, with other fruits and vegetables. I've cut out all processed sugar meaning no chocolate, no donuts, no ice cream, no sweets, no processed sugar of any kind. I've been raw since 8/7/07 (meaning all my meals are raw), but still had to deal with my processed sugar addiction and since cutting all processed sugar whatever evacutes is green...so green it's scary.

Now this is one I will respond to. It is green because of what you are eating, if you were eating primarily orange fruits, carrots and bananas and little green food, it would be more orange/yellow/brown. Is it easy to pass, at least 2-3 x a day, fluffy, floating, and falls apart before you can even flush? Sounds healthy and normal to me, the kind of poop that means you are cleaning house.

So you've stopped eating non-raw things, meaning there's nothing cooked in your stools, which is why you can see the green.

ive heard the beetred stool, and the staining of the toilet water upon contact, is sign of acidity in the body... as for green stool, YES!! that to me is a sign that i am getting my greens.
brown poop is so dead and unnatural.
its funny how green, the color of life, is frowned upon by most and viewed as disgusting.
if you eat dead, dehydrated food, your poop will be brown (or if you eat a lot of nuts or somthing)
but yes overall the color that goes in basically comes out.

If you want to see what a beet red stool looks like just take 3 or 4 good sized beets and juice them and then drink the beet red juice and watch your stool turn beet red. It will I guarantee it.

in Victoria Boutenko's book Green for Life, she uses this as a test to see if stomach acid is low. Apparently, your poo shouldn't change color if your acid is at the right level. Her answer to this is, of course, more green smoothies!!
And may I just say, you gotta love RFT b/c no where else can you have as frank of a discussion!
Love you guys!!

Its the avocados. I feed my one year old an avocado every day and her poop is green. You're eating 2-4 avocados a day. I'd say that's enough to turn it green.

funny how everyone avoids topics remotely related to sex and/or virility like the plague, but jumps at the chance to talk about feces...

When I would change my daughter's diapers when whe was a baby (of course) sometimes she would have multi colored poops. Very interesting! I raised her on a 100% vegan diet.

I am sitting here drinking a delicious GS only this one isn't green its red. It has plenty of leafy green romaine lettuce in it but it also has a peeled cuke and a whole medium sized beet in it. Try that for a red flag in your stool.

Hello. I don't know if you'll get this since you posted in 2007. I found your post when searching for someone who also had green poop after cutting out cane sugar. I've been eating blueberries the past two days, but it started before than and has not changed since the blueberries (in response to the theory of someone you answered you thinking it was from green veggies). If you get this message, please reply so we can chat. Thanks.
