I'm Green Smoothie fasting and am interesting in knowing what else I can toss into my greens and fruit mixture? Any ideas?

The way I get mine done at juice bars in Sydney, is They juice the fruit and veggies (eg. beetroot, carrot, watermelon, canteloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple chunks (fresh), lemon, lots of fresh ginger root (lurve ginger), oranges, 2-3 handfuls of baby spinach, celery - basically whatever I want from the fresh fruit and veg display).

Then they add the juice to their Vitamix, along with frozen blueberries, frozen raspberries, and fresh very ripe banana, and let the Vitamix rip on full power to blend up everything.

Result drink is very, very, delicious, and note this will clean you out. This costs me about $6.50 to $7.50 for an extra large green smoothie (normally purple, or wine red in colour, very rarely gree), but it's worth it. I have problems with asthma and catarrh all my life. After I drank it, I vomited less than 5 mins after, all the thick, ropey mucus on my chest and in my throat that was hampering my breathing that day, as a result of eating a dairy mint chocolate icecream and other dietary mishaps the day before. I was fine after.

Dairy is bloody foul and is not fit for humans I swear!!! Dairy is for cows, even though I just read a nutritionists article in a magazine promoting dairy for asthhma sufferers. WTF!!!!????

When I had my own kitchen I would do a mix of salad greens (NO iceberg lettuce) with honey ( I can now get agave) and almond milk, and frozen berries (whatever I liked) and frozen mango, peaches, nectarines, blood oranges etc, whatever was in season, in a normal blender on the highest speed.

I frankly prefer my green smoothies without almond milk or nuts in them, as even though they cleaned me out, I had no energy when I drank this combo. Just the plain fruit and veg green smoothie does magic for me.

Enjoy your gs.

I saw this on the web credited to Raw Priestess. Add a couple of shots of wheatgrass juice to lemon, water and agave. Make to your taste, which is different for every person. Then I suggest adding the juice of a cucumber, and lots of ginger. Add celery if you like the taste.

Add agave to taste. But drink up, this is phenomenally good for you. I drank loads of cucumber juice as a young teen.

Other things you can juice are pumpkin, yes it sounds weird, but add pumpkin pie spice, frozen bananas and 2-3 big handfuls of baby spinach. Adjust seasoning and agave to taste.

Frozen bananas make everything very creamy and thick. So no need for nut milk, especially when using other frozen fruits like berries etc.

IF you can get soursop, that is phenomenal too. Looks like a durian, but importantly doesn't taste nor smell like a durian, tastes like a tropical bouquet. It also tastes very very creamy, naturally. The juice also looks very creamy as well, naturally. If you live near an Asian neighbourhood or Hispanic neighbourhood you should be able to find it.

It is called guanabana, soursop and many other things. Look it up on google. Importantly it has very strong anti-cancer properties. So why hasn't it been picked up by big Pharma? It is too complex to synthesize, and you can't put a patent on Mother Nature's handiwork. Not patent equals no profit.
Very simple.

Now presuming that you can get soursop, juice it, discards seeds and left over pulp. Add allspice nutmeg and cinnamon, lemon, frozen banana, and greenery of your choice. NO ICEBERG lettuce. Most lettuce is mainly water. NOt minerals. This is all to taste.

If you can get papaya, do basically the same. You can save the papaya seeds for spice, as they have a peppery flavour, if you fancy that sort of thing.

Good luck,

Enjoy your greens.

Carla.
