Every time someone feels different than they normally do, they ask the question above. When one changes their food program ESPECIALLY when they upgrade to a higher quality of fuel, their bodies will change and will eliminate that which does not belong there. So! to answer this oh, so familiar question, I did a lil googling. Here are SOME of the resources I've found... now, understand, I have NOT taken the time to read through them all and some may not reflect this board. If you find that, please, tell a mod and have it removed as I'm not putting these in order to sell anyone's products.. just to give an overview and answer the question as stated above:

These seem to be pretty useful links... And I noticed they all suggest getting extra sleep if you're going through detox... Makes sense, but man, why don't we think of this when we're detoxing. Lots of other good info on them too. :)

Yeah. Hopefully it can be made into a sticky and then bumped up on occasion.. like every day maybe. :D

Revell, how funny! I just signed on and saw this post first. I am wondering if what I'm feeling since yesterday (nauseous, die-yuh-ree-uh, and slight fever) is detox or a flu. But I also couldn't be bothered enough to try to find out because it doesn't change my game plan, you know what I mean? I'm just resting and drinking lots of water and waiting it out. I think I'm not interested in giving too much energy to the thought that I'm suffering some kind of horrible detox symptoms, because whether or not I am, I'm still pushing on with a raw food lifestyle!
But now that you've posted these handy dandy links, I think I'll go take a gander! Thanks!

Yup! I do know. I just continue doing what I do and not concern myself with it when something comes up for me. I know I'm eating the best way possible.

Thanks so much, Revvell. They were a great help as one of them mentioned back pain and muscle tightness ( which I was suffering from before I began on raw, and had found taking magnesium malate for awhile had alleviated those symptoms). Great relief to see those mentioned as they don't seem as common or something. (Although they were mentioned on the fasting link, and I'm not fasting, just 100% raw for a week and half now). I'm a recently perimenopausal woman, and suffered not only from those back/muscle issues (at night! while trying to sleep, and waking me up) but also from insomnia for the first time in my life. I guess as I'm detoxing and getting those old symptoms back I am also having weird 'inconvenient' sleep patterns again too. which leads to my question:
Has anyone used natural supplements and herbs prior to eating raw, and if so how long did it take to ease off them? Besides magnesium malate, I was/am using AM/PM Menopausal formula (of all herbs in a capsule), liquid homeopathic thyroid supplement, liquid kelp, and a few others.
Here's my experience so far: I have often forgotten now to take those supplements, but I wasn't worried about it... until yesterday and the day before when the symptoms they were alleviating came back! LOL But I'm determined to stay off the supplements and plow through because I literally can not afford to buy the highgrade supplements and eat raw. I make only $600 a month, which is officially below poverty level in this country lol.
About the weird inconvenient sleep patterns resurfacing: now I no longer stress about it! Raw helps my mood!! lol (combined with my strong a.m./p.m. meditational routine and spiritual practice).

Troyanne, congratulations! It sounds like you are taking really healthy proactive steps to help yourself. So many people quit when they have those symptoms. I don't have any real advice since I'm not all the knowledgeable, but I wanted to honor your good work in taking care of yourself! I truly believe if you continue with the meditation and spiritual work you will continue to be supported as you deal with the physical aspects of your journey.

Are you doing any kind of movement? Qigong and yoga tend to relieve any aches and pains I have... work slowly up to the edge of the pain and after a few repetitions you may find that you can work deeper into and through the other side.
Wheatgrass juice worked for me also.
